Description:

Currently seeking a full time Assistant Teacher to work as a team member creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing and loving environment caring for children 6 weeks to 12 years in a home base Group Family Day Care located in Cypress Hills Brooklyn. You must be flexible, energetic, creative, enjoy gardening, taking walks, and embracing the outdoors.

Responsibilities:

Report to the Head Teacher
Supervises children at all times
Assist with lesson planning and activities
Report incidents to the Head Teacher and record it in the log provided
Ensure environment is clean and safe
Maintains strict client confidentiality and utmost professionalism at all times
Attends and participates in parent/staff meetings, training and workshops
Sanitizing toys

Qualifications:

At least 15/30 hours of training in the following topics: Health & Safety, Obesity, Emergency Preparedness, Family Engagement, Early Intervention, Transportation, Managing Challenging behavior (Birth to 18 months) and (18 to 36 months), Keeping Children Safe, Promoting Sudden Infant Death, Preventing Shaken Baby Syndrome, Mandated Reporter Child Abuse, Brain Development, School Age Child Care, and Supervision.

MINIMUM REQUIRMENT: (New York City Dept. of Health)

At least two years of experience in caring for children under six years of age

One year of experience in caring for children under six years of age and six

hours of training or education in Early Childhood Development
