Description:
The Early Head Start and Head Start Program provides comprehensive child and family development services through home visits, center-based classrooms and case management. The program provides family support services and advocacy to low-income pregnant women and families with children birth to five.
Responsibilities:
- Assist ERSEA Coordinator with enrollment including eligibility applications, referrals, intake and recertification
- Coordinate all family activities including monthly Parent Workshops and Newsletter
- Coordinate and support the implementation and ongoing development of the Health Advisory Committee
- Assist in developing the Policy Council and Parent Committee
- Maintain and develop relationships with other community-based organizations that support the Program's work with families and children
- Monitor and track ongoing medical and health forms/records
- Develop consistent, stable and supportive relationships with families, children and providers to assess their needs
- Assist with programmatic implementation of Parent Family Community Engagement framework
- Create individualized family/child plans and provide families with appropriate referrals. Manage a small caseload of families and conduct home visits
- Monitor the ongoing provision of home visits and ensure that staff maintain proper documentation on families and children
- Coordinate outreach and assist in the recruitment of families
- Purchase outreach, workshop and training supplies
- Maintain appropriate records that comply with Fiscal requirements
- Develop and maintain community resource materials for families and staff including referrals
- Assist in program evaluation and assessment
- Other duties as requested by supervisor to fulfill job responsibilities
- Coordinate transition plans for 3 & 4 year olds
- Assist with staff and provider trainings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Human Development or related field with knowledge of child development (birth to three years)
- 2-3 years' experience working with families and providing home visits
- Bilingual English/Mandarin or English/Cantonese strongly preferred
